Have you needed some large letters and hated the thought of using so much thread to embroidery them. Then maybe having them to pucker and become a mess. Appliqué is the answer. I discovered this technique
while teaching myself to make appliqué designs. I have not found this methods illustrated before. Try one letter now and you will see how nice they can be. Enjoy!

Appliqué Alphabet made with PE Design

(Follow the route that is separated with the / lines)
Open Layout and Editing. Click A for text.

Choose font #29/ size (75 mm will make the 3 inch size.)

Click on empty space beside the work window for the Edit Text window./ Choose any letter/ insert/ OK

If your letter is out of the work area choose the
Selection Mode Tool and click on the outline of the
letter to activate it and drag it into the work area.

Choose line drawing tool/open path/ running stitch/ no fill/ color any medium one.

Enlarge the design. Starting at the lower center click around the letter on all lines with as few clicks as possible taking care to stay on the lines. Double click to finish. Reduce the size.

With the Point Edit Tool activate the letter. Grab one of the points in a spot where it can be easily restored and drag it away until you can see the black line underneath.

Using the Selection Mode tool click on this black line to activate it/ Drag it over and out of window and then hit the delete key to delete it.
Restore your outline to it's original shape.

Choose the line drawing tool/ open path/ any light color different from the previous one/ Satin St/ Sew/ Sewing Attribute Setting/ Run pitch 2.5/ close.
Click around letter as before. Double click to finish.
File/ Save as................ (save your new file.)
Make other letters as needed and write them to card.
Enjoy.
