These dolls can be made with or without the computerized embroidery machine. The body and facial features are sewn using the embroidery machine with a design field of 5 X 7 inch or larger. You will need only to stuff them. I have even gave patterns so they can be made using a regular machine by sewing all seams and hand embroidery for the facial features. My instructions will guide you step by step with lots of photos taken with my digital camera like the instructions given on my site. They will be easy for you to follow and get your dolls created in no time. You will need Acrobat Reader to read these files. You can download a free copy here .

Many years ago I made a doll pincushion. It was just an idea and while playing around I created her. I did not make any photos but I never forgot her and how useful she was. When she became soiled and worn from the hard job she did, she was discarded. Recently after many years, I made another one and now I have a new one in my sewing room keeping my pins in order. If I am sewing, Patti is near by. She is very handy to take to my easy chair while working on a lap project. Most crafters use a variety of pins. A different part of her skirt for each type of pin keeps my pins organized. No hunting for the correct pins for the job in progress. She is large enough to hold a lot of pins and not likely to be knocked in the floor when I don't watch my aim. She is big enough to be found in a pile of clutter and small enough to carry from room to room. She is designed so her clothing can be removed for laundring when needed. If I change the colors in my sewing room she can be out-fitted in the new colors. Everyone should have a Patti Pincushion. Even those who do not sew would enjoy her on their dressing table to hold the safety, corsage, and dress pins or just to decorate a room. Patti is a hard working girl and would love to work for you. She's a great gift to give those who you really want to please. They will love her for many years and she could become a heirloom.

A Suzy Secret doll covers my button jar. I could never throw away old clothing without removing any usable buttons first. They were always saved in my button jar as well as other small items I did not want to lose. Sometimes the same buttons would be used over again many times. My mother and sisters all had button jars and it was fun to search through their jars. I remember a time when pretty buttons were a treasure. Everyone needs a button jar to keep small treasure in. Fill her jar with 'goodies' before giving her as a gift and watch the surprise look on thier faces when they discover her secret. For a child use a plastic jar. Little girls would delight in having their own special hiding place. Suzy would be extra special to someone in the hospital or nursing home filled with 'goodies' to eat. Give her to that someone special who has everything. Suzy is attached to the lid part of a two piece mason jar lid. She can easily be opened to get to her 'goodies'. Without the ring she will sit on any object you wish to hide. (shirt length can be adjusted for this). What kind of secrets can Suzy hide for you?
Instructions, patterns and embroidery files for both dolls are included.
